(ENGLISH) I loved it. And the first thing that won me over was something as simple as being able to spend practically the entire movie on Cybertron. After so many installments in which the Transformers ended up sharing the spotlight with humans and cities on Earth, finally seeing their world, their society, and the way they live before becoming the characters we know is one of Transformers One's greatest strengths. Cybertron stops being just a name or some distant place and genuinely becomes part of the story. But the best thing is that the movie does not settle for simply showing us the planet. Josh Cooley builds a genuine origin story around Orion Pax and D-16, before they become Optimus Prime and Megatron. We know perfectly well where each of them will end up, and yet it still works to see them as friends, discover what binds them together, and gradually understand what will eventually tear them apart. That relationship gives the film an emotional depth I did not expect to find so strongly in an animated Transformers adventure. Cybertron itself is also much more developed than it might initially appear. There is a social organization, hierarchies, differences between those who possess certain abilities and those who do not, and an entire structure that ultimately matters to the protagonists' evolution. The movie manages to explain plenty of mythology without becoming an encyclopedia for fans or preventing someone who barely knows the franchise from enjoying it. That accessibility is another of its strengths. It also works extremely well as an adventure movie. There is humor, action, chases, and battles that make much better use of what Transformers actually are than many of the live-action films. Animation allows transformation to become a natural part of movement rather than merely a spectacular effect. Visually, it is colorful and dynamic, and when it needs to become epic, it knows how. And yes: when the Optimus Prime we are all waiting for begins to emerge, I am completely on board. Optimus has to win, damn it. At first it may look like something aimed especially at younger audiences, but I think that is somewhat misleading. As it progresses, the story becomes more serious and the relationship between the two protagonists gains unexpected weight. That is where I completely understand why so many critics highlighted its ability to bring humanity to characters who are literally machines. Not everything has the same depth and some jokes are a little too childish, but the overall balance works far better than I expected. Overall, I think it is one of the best movies the Transformers franchise has produced and probably one of the most interesting ways to revitalize it. Fun, visually excellent, full of heart and, above all, with the enormous advantage of finally letting us experience an entire adventure on Cybertron while watching Optimus Prime and Megatron being born. I want more Transformers like this.
