(CASTELLANO) Cerrar una saga como Misión Imposible después de casi treinta años no es tarea fácil. Sentencia Final llega con ese reto y, aunque había dudas sobre si estaría a la altura, lo cierto es que la despedida tiene garra. Hay épica, hay emoción y, sobre todo, secuencias que justifican de sobra el maratón de casi tres horas, incluso si en algún tramo la película se siente un poco más larga de lo necesario. El arranque apuesta por la intriga y el espionaje, recordando a los primeros tiempos de la saga. Conspiraciones, engaños, sospechas constantes… todo envuelto en ese clima de que nadie es lo que parece. Es verdad que el ritmo baja en algunos momentos y uno piensa que la historia podría contarse con menos rodeos, pero esa calma acaba jugando a favor: prepara el terreno para que, cuando la acción estalle, el espectáculo sea brutal. Y ahí aparece Tom Cruise, otra vez dejando claro que sigue siendo el último gran héroe de Hollywood. Corre, salta, se cuelga de todo lo que puede y lo hace con una convicción que contagia. A sus más de sesenta años, sigue empeñado en que el público contenga la respiración con cada acrobacia. Más que un espía, su Ethan Hunt ya es casi un mito de resistencia, alguien que nunca se rinde aunque todo esté en su contra. El reparto acompaña bien, aunque es verdad que algunos personajes secundarios quedan algo desaprovechados. Los guiños al pasado y los cameos sacan sonrisas a los fans de siempre, pero se echa en falta que ciertos personajes tengan un poco más de espacio. De todos modos, cada vez que la cámara vuelve a Cruise, la película recupera todo su magnetismo. El clímax es un festival. Escenas submarinas, persecuciones imposibles y secuencias aéreas que parecen de otro mundo. McQuarrie demuestra que sabe manejar el caos como pocos, logrando que todo fluya con tensión y emoción hasta el último minuto. Puede que la historia no sorprenda demasiado, pero cuando la acción se vive con esa intensidad, lo demás pasa a un segundo plano. Al final, Sentencia Final no reinventa nada, pero sí logra despedirse con dignidad. Es un cierre que honra a la saga, combina nostalgia con espectáculo puro y deja claro que Ethan Hunt se baja del tren en lo más alto. The opening leans into intrigue and espionage, reminiscent of the franchise’s early days. Conspiracies, betrayals, constant suspicion… all wrapped in that atmosphere where nothing is what it seems. It’s true that the pace slows down in places and one feels the story could have been told with fewer detours, but that calm eventually pays off: it sets the stage so that when the action erupts, the spectacle is overwhelming. And then comes Tom Cruise, once again proving he’s still Hollywood’s last true action hero. He runs, jumps, clings to anything he can, and does it with a conviction that’s contagious. At over sixty, he’s still determined to make the audience hold their breath with every stunt. More than a spy, his Ethan Hunt has become a symbol of resilience, someone who never gives up even when everything is against him. The supporting cast delivers, though it’s true that some secondary characters feel underused. The nods to the past and nostalgic cameos will make longtime fans smile, but certain roles deserved more room to shine. Still, whenever the camera focuses back on Cruise, the film regains all its magnetism. The climax is pure spectacle. Underwater scenes, impossible chases, and aerial sequences that feel out of this world. McQuarrie shows he knows how to orchestrate chaos like few others, keeping the tension and excitement alive until the very last second. The story may not hold many surprises, but when the action burns with this kind of intensity, little else matters. In the end, Dead Reckoning doesn’t reinvent the formula, but it does manage to say goodbye with dignity. It’s a closing chapter that honors the saga, blending nostalgia with pure spectacle and making it clear that Ethan Hunt leaves the stage at the very top. For those who watched the first mission back in July 1996, it’s impossible not to leave the theater with the feeling of having been part of a journey as excessive as it was unforgettable.
